Arrive in Durban for a leisurely lunch at Umhlanga Rocks beach resort. Unwind on the beach or stroll around the many attractions of Kwa Zulu Natal’s premier holiday city.

After as much breakfast as you like, make a late start for a guided walk around the S.A. Sugar Experimental Station, which will take you through all aspects of sugar production and variety breeding. An unhurried transfer to the Midlands via interesting Zulu Tribal areas finds us booking into the Tyrolean style, and very comfortable, ‘Wartburger Hof,’ for 3 nights. Trace Sugar production chain from planting to bagging the final product. Lunch at the ‘Hof’ followed by optional visit to cattle feedlot, or visit a tribal family and sample the home brew and consult a traditional healer! Jolly farewell night at the ‘Hof’.

Move to the Natal Battlefields [approx 200 kms.] via more Zulu homelands with picnic lunch en route. Guided tours of famous British/Boer/Zulu historical battles including Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift, the site of the well known movie “Zulu Dawn’ and some of the most famous battles of the British Empire. Overnight at local guest lodge with tall tales.

Morning tour of extensive working livestock farm followed by an afternoon of leisure or optional activities as the mood takes you. Overnight at the Stillwater Motel.

An early start by 8am for the lengthy drive to Nelspruit , through pastoral, arable and forested mountain area for a late lunch with a tobacco grower and explanations of these and other agricultural operations. Overnight at Crocodile Country Inn.
